short description:
The village is located 12 km from the historic town of Lovech, on the borderline between the first hills of the Balkan Mountain and the Danube plain. It is easily reached for about an hour and a quarter drive from Sofia, mostly on the North motorway of the country. The village is located in an agricultural region where people still live in a traditional rural way and produce mainly for their own use. South of the village, gentle hills mark the beginning of the more mountainous area which leads further south to the Troyan Balkan Area, one of the nicest and best preserved national parks in the country.
Near the village starts a small river that goes through the gentle hills down to Osam River, popular among local fishermen. For the serious ones there are three reservoirs in close proximity. Agriculture, fishing and hunting are the main activities in this non-industrial region. Nowadays, Lovech is known for its rakia (the local grape brandy) and red wine.
